Job Purpose
The Technical Lead is responsible for leading the Software Development Life Cycle, including analysis, design, development and testing of Microsoft SharePoint applications with a MS SQL Server backend. Ability to lead and facilitate meetings with the client, users and the development team is essential.
Prior successful experience leading a team of developers in the creation of MS SharePoint/SQL Server applications is required.
Recent hands-on development experience with MS SharePoint/SQL Server is essential.
Responsibilities
- Design and development of new and existing SharePoint 2010/SQL Server 2008 applications
- Architecting, designing, developing and implementing complex enterprise software solutions
- Coordinating and cooperating with the client, the project manager the program manager and developers to implement a SharePoint/SQL Server architecture that utilizes best practices and modernizes existing Access applications
- Installing, configuring, testing and implementing SharePoint Server 2016/2019 and SQL Server 2012
- Use Visual Studio, SharePoint Web Interface, and SharePoint Designer to develop custom solutions with a backend SQL Server 2012 database
- Develop and implement master pages, views, forms, templates, external lists, external content types, custom lists, web parts, master pages and other custom components.
- Design and Develop fully normalized MS SQL Server databases
- Migrate data to a newly designed and developed MS SQL Server database
- Responsible for estimating work content and achieving planned timelines
- Responsible for following project management / lifecycle development processes and procedures
- Communicate and enforce best practice coding standards
- Consistently deliver high-quality services to clients on schedule
- Communicate complex information effectively to team and clients
- Ability to scale the solution to the client’s goals and budget
Skills and Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Related Major
- Extensive hands on experience developing SharePoint and SQL Server applications from the ground up, including experience with SharePoint 2016/2019 and SQL Server 2012
- Strong understanding of SharePoint 2016/2019 and SQL Server 2012 structures, theories, principles, and practices
- Strong programming skills in website development in a Microsoft environment
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering concepts and practices
- Strong understanding of Design Patterns and Object Oriented Programming
- Strong hands on experience writing Systems Engineering documentation that meet Federal Government standards and guidelines (Architecture, Requirements, Design, Testing)
- Hands on experience building advanced web applications (preferable .NET with C#), including developing Web Services
- SQL Server database design and implementation experience
- Excellent leadership, communication and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of SharePoint APIs and architecture including experience with SharePoint web services 2016 API,
- Hands on experience with data migrations
- Hands on experience programming in SharePoint Designer and InfoPath with a MS SQL Server backend
- Hands on experience migrating to a SQL Server architecture
- Hands on experience developing applications with Visual Studio 2008/2010/2013
- Hands on experience developing and utilizing SharePoint components including, forms, templates, external lists, external content types, custom lists, BCS, service applications, web parts, master pages and content management
- Hands on experience with configuring, administering, managing and troubleshooting SQL Server 2012 and SharePoint 2016
- Professional standards-based web development using ASP.Net, Restful Services, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, JQuery, and JavaScript
- .NET based language (C#)
- Microsoft SharePoint 2019 is a plus
- Nintex workflow engine is a plus
- Experience working with workflow engine is a must
- Experience with a variety of Content Management Systems
- Administration experience and knowledge of SharePoint Online
- Knowledge of security standards and techniques for web applications
- Understand browser-specific compatibility issues
- Experience creating 3rd party authentication for external partner portals
- Angular 2/4 knowledge is a plus
- React / React Fiber knowledge is a plus
- NodeJS knowledge

Education/Training
- Bachelors or Associate degree in IT discipline. 5+ years in .NET development desired. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Microsoft development certifications, a plus.
